Scratch Deadline and Procedure

If a swimmer, based on previous time rankings, expects they will be seeded in the meet and they either (1) do not plan on participating in the meet or (2) do not want to swim a particular event, they should scratch from the events they do not want to swim. Scratches from individual events in this meet will not be accepted after 9:00 pm on Monday, July 22nd and must be submitted utilizing the MCSL Online Scratch process. In the event that a swimmer needs to scratch the full meet after the scratch deadline, email [email protected].

Swimmer Check-in Procedures

All swimmers, including alternates, should report to the start area no later than two events prior to the time their event is scheduled to be swum. Alternates should check in with the start area chief judge. If an empty lane is available, the first or second alternate will be placed into the empty lane(s). Swimmers who do not check in with the start area chief judge may not be seeded into an empty lane. DO NOT simply report to a lane you know or believe to be open. Only the Deck Referee will place alternates in an event. If there are empty lanes and no alternates present at the start of the event, the lanes will not be filled.

Rays Family Relay Night
RSFC South Pool
Start: 6:00 PM
End: 7:00 PM

Next Thursday, 7/18 during the second hour of practice from 6-7PM, we'll be holding a Family Relay Night! Parents and/or siblings within a family will form a relay team and will compete against other families.

We will have the following 4 events:

  • 4x25 kickboard relay
  • 4x25 freestyle relay
  • 4x25 medley relay
  • 4x25 Noodle Relay (every member of the team starts with a pool noodle and the number of noodles accumulates with each leg - i.e. the first person swims with just their noodle, the second person swims with their noodle and the first person's noodle, third person swims with 3, and 4th person swims with 4).

If your family does not have an even 4 people, you can combine with another family unit (i.e. swimmer A + swimmer A's mom + swimmer B + swimmer B's mom), or "adopt" a swimmer with no siblings/swimmer parents. These combinations can either be organized by yourself, or I can facilitate them too!

What I need from you if you'd like to participate: please tell me how many family members will be participating and which events you'd like to enter (could be 1 or all 4) by Tuesday 7/16 @ 12PM (when B meet entries are due).
